The 80s was a transitional decade in many levels, looking at the present and music could not be an exception in this transitional stage.
Dimitris Liolios seems to know this well, as one can hear from his discography how he “marries” the old “way” in music with the modern alternative sound.
His new release has all the characteristics of a beautiful surprise, as this time it is not a new song as one might expect, but a cover of an old song from that decade. It is “In a manner of speaking” by Tuxedomoon, composed by Winston Tong released back in 1985…
The most recent rendition of this song was in 2012 by Nouvelle Vague where it achieved great success worldwide.
Dimitris departs completely from the approaches of the song until now, giving it a “modern” alternative sound and of course, his own unique musical stamp – aesthetics.

A flower was born from his blood...
When I met Georgia Drakaki a few years ago, we decided that we would love to collaborate at some point.
It seems that this moment has arrived, and so I wrote the music to her lyrics for “The Grownup Prince”. It’s a story that is more or less part of all our daily lives, as all of us, regardless of gender, are the little princes who grew up or are growing up.
My new release in collaboration with the exceptional artist-lyricist Georgia Drakaki is now a fact.
The artwork of this new release is by Elena Vasilaki.
